Attitudes and social cognition. Motivational processes in attitude and behavior change. Action goals and cognitive processes. Applications of social cognition to disease prevention programs.

Research Statement

My interest is to understand the influence of social stimuli on individual behavior. In general, my work has involved multiple levels of analysis and is relevant to various areas of psychology (clinical, counseling, cognitive, and developmental psychology), as well as other disciplines (e.g., psychiatry, sociology, economics, neuroscience). It deals with attitudes and social cognition broadly construed, and almost always has implications for understanding and changing behavior.
