Students interested in transferring into the Psychology major are strongly encouraged to attend an informational group meeting held throughout the semester.

What does it take to declare Psychology?
Students must earn credit for:
An introductory psychology course (PSYC 100 or equivalent),
A statistics course (PSYC 235 or equivalent - STAT 100, ECON 202, EPSY 280, or other approved course),
and a U of I at Urbana-Champaign biological/cognitive psychology course (PSYC 210, 220, 224, 230, 248, or 358).
A minimum 2.75 GPA is required for all psychology and statistics courses taken at U of I at Urbana-Champaign.
Warning:
Students who do not meet the GPA transfer barriers by the end of their 6th semester are
STRONGLY DISCOURAGED from pursuing the
major. At this academic juncture, it is extremely difficult to sufficiently raise the GPA
to the required level.
