My main interest in metacognitive functions in language production. How do we monitor our own speech? How do we detect and repair errors? How much of it is a conscious process? What happens to these processes in aphasia?
A more general goal for me is exploring domain-general cognitive processes that have specific manifestations in different cognitive systems, like language production. Currently, I am extending the findings of visual attention to language production, by studying feature migration in time (rather than space) and in production (rather than perception) through speech errors.
I work with the inimitable Gary Dell. Representative Publications: - Nozari, N., Kittredge, A.K., Dell, G.S. (in press). A computational case-series approach to frequency effects in aphasic word production.
