My research interests focus on sexual violence and victimization, particularly the antecedents and consequences of sexual harassment in higher education and the workplace. Our research group is currently involved in a five-year project funded by the National Institutes of Mental Health to collect data in a variety of organizations and conduct in-depth clinical interviews of victims. This work examines the effects of harassment, coping characteristics of those who are harassed, and the influence of environmental factors on both the incidence and outcomes of this phenomenon. The ultimate goal of this research is to provide theoretical and empirical insights to guide institutional and social policy change in work and educational institutions.
