Eddie Wlotko was also awarded a $5000 research award for new MEG research he is planning to do in collaboration with Eric Halgren at UCSD.

      <title> Hua-Hua Chang receives 2008 NCME Award for an Outstanding Example of Application of Educational Measurement Technology to a Specific Problem.</title>

        Hua-Hua Chang (and Zhilian Ying, from
        Columbia) are the joint winners of the 2008 NCME Award for an Outstanding Example of Application of Educational Measurement Technology to a Specific Problem.
        
        The problem tackled was to identify a design flaw in the computerized testing system which failed to generate reliable scores for thousands of GRE and GMAT test takers from 2000 to 2003. They proposed a theory and presented both analytical and empirical evidence to support their hypothesis.  The award ceremony will be held at the 2008 AERA/NCME Annual Meetings, March 23-27, 2008, New York City.
